The Taupe Dot is a modern cuckoo clock designed for contemporary interiors. The soft taupe finish and circular dial create a neutral, balanced presence that works naturally with wood, brick, and light-colored spaces.

This modern cuckoo clock reinterprets the traditional cuckoo clock by removing carved ornamentation and focusing on proportion, structure, and controlled color. The small circular opening reveals the cuckoo bird on the hour, maintaining the familiar mechanism in a simplified, architectural form.

Unlike traditional cuckoo clocks that are limited to wall mounting, this design includes a removable stand. This allows the modern cuckoo clock to be placed on a shelf, desk, or console, or mounted on the wall depending on the space.

How to Set Up

Batteries: Insert 3 × AA batteries in the back (not included).
Set the time: Turn the time-setting knob on the back clockwise until the minute hand shows the right time. Never move the hour hand on its own. This keeps the cuckoo in sync.
Set the sound: Use the knob on the back to choose one of three volume levels, or mute.
Place it: Use the stand for a shelf or desk, or remove the stand and hang it on the wall using the keyhole on the back.
Quiet nights: The cuckoo stays silent from 11pm to 6am automatically.

Does the bird count the hours?
No — the cuckoo chirps once every hour to announce the time. It does not count the number of the hour.

Will it wake me up at night?
No — automatic night silent mode from 11pm to 6am.

Is the night silence based on the clock time or a light sensor?
It's time-based, not a light sensor. The clock uses its own time to determine when to go silent — automatically off from 11pm to 6am.

Can the silent period be changed or turned off?
No — the 11pm to 6am silent period is fixed and cannot be adjusted. If you want sound around the clock, use the mute switch to turn it off and manage it manually.

Can I control the volume?
Yes — three volume levels plus mute, adjusted via the knob on the back.

Wall or shelf?
Both. The removable stand lets it sit on any shelf, desk, or console. Remove the stand and use the keyhole on the back to hang it on the wall.

How do I set the time?
Turn the minute hand clockwise using the time-setting knob on the back. Never move the hour hand independently — this keeps the cuckoo in sync.

What batteries?
3 × AA (not included). Replace annually. Duracell or equivalent recommended.

My cuckoo clock is beautiful. It’s everything I’d hoped. I love the tweeting birdsong on the hour.

It’s bigger than expected. And the cuckoo chime is erratic. I threw away the notes so now it doesn’t work. Can someone send me the instructions again?

Once I got it set I am thrilled with this clock ⏰ it is a piece of art!!! Love it

Design is excellent, but internal assembly was very poor. Cables were disconnected, cuckoo was hanging loose as the screws attaching it inside had come loose with one screw missing altogether. It was clear that there had been glue attached when assembled which had come loose.
It took me well over an hour to reconnect cables and reattach cuckoo mechanism and to get it working.

As I say the design is excellent but the actual product itself is poor for what it cost.

I would also add that I was told I should receive it in early June. Goods did not arrive until 24 July.

Love it arrived quickly as promised looks great on my kitchen wall and makes me smile every time the little bird comes out and sings .not to loud which I was worried about .switches of at night .

My clock is very cute but I ordered a sage green clock and received a white one. The advertisement says it has the ability to turn the sound off at night but you can only do that by taking out the batteries. Not happy about that. Had to put it in a different room from where I intended it to go or it wakes me up.

I love it! Instructions regarding set up were cryptic. It might be helpful to explain it is a 24 hour clock and you are initially setting it at 6:00 am, the time chime/chirp will start. If the current time is 6:00 pm you have to rotate the time setting knob clockwise 360 degrees.
